WELCOME TO BUDO NORD CUP & LUGI JUDO CAMP 2026
BUDO NORD CUP 2026 is a premier judo competition celebrating the spirit, skill, and talent of judokas from near and far. The event takes place May 14–17, 2026 at Victoria Station, Lund, Sweden. Competitions will be held May 14–15, followed by LUGI JUDO CAMP on May 16–17.

REGISTRATION INFORMATION:
Normal Registration: 31 December – 4 May
Late Registration: May 5 – May 10 (late registration incurs double fees)

PREPARE FOR COMPETITION:
A minimum of 4 kyu (orange) is required for participation.
On the screens with the fight order, White is always on top of each fight
Rules & Conduct: Competitions will adhere to the rules and codes of the Swedish Judo Federation. The new rules of 2025 will be adapted.

Standard Registration:
Single event: 400 SEK per athlete

Double event: 400 SEK per athlete

Late Registration:
Single event: 800 SEK per athlete

Double event: 800 SEK per athlete

The draw will be presented on Smoothcomp after the last weigh-in time each day

Saturday 16th May for all ages

Sunday 17th May for all ages

CATEGORIES
U15, U18, U21 and Senior

Belt grade requirement: Participants in all categories must hold a minimum grade of 4 kyu (orange)

Match Duration and Rules:
U15 Matches: 3-minute match time with no limit golden score.

U18, U21, and Senior Matches: 4-minute match time with no limit golden score.

Categories for Under 15:
Boys Under 15 (BU15): For boys under 15 years old up to the year they turn 14, with weight divisions as follows: -34kg, -38kg, -42kg, -46kg, -50kg, -55kg, -60kg, and +60kg.

Girls Under 15 (GU15): For girls under 15 years old up to the year they turn 14, with weight divisions as follows: -32kg, -36kg, -40kg, -44kg, -48kg, -52kg, -57kg, -63kg, and +63kg.

Special note and rules for U15:
Judokas who are in their final year U13 may enter the U15 category, based on a general exemption by Sweden Judo.

Shime waza (chokeholds) and Kansetsu waza (armbars) are not allowed in the U15 categories to ensure the safety and well-being of young judokas.

Categories for Under 18:
Boys Under 18 (BU18): For boys under 18 years old up to the year they turn 17, with weight divisions as follows: -46kg, -50kg, -55kg, -60kg, -66kg, -73kg, -81kg, -90kg, and +90kg.

Girls Under 18 (GU18): For girls under 18 years old up to the year they turn 17, with weight divisions as follows: -40kg, -44kg, -48kg, -52kg, -57kg, -63kg, -70kg, and +70kg.

Categories for U21:
Boys Under 21 (BU21): For boys under 18 years old up to the year they turn 17, with weight divisions as follows: -46kg, -50kg, -55kg, -60kg, -66kg, -73kg, -81kg, -90kg, and +90kg.

Girls Under 21 (GU21): For girls under 18 years old up to the year they turn 17, with weight divisions as follows: -40kg, -44kg, -48kg, -52kg, -57kg, -63kg, -70kg, and +70kg.

Categories for Seniors:
Senior Men: Open to men aged 17 years or older, with weight divisions as follows: -60kg, -66kg, -73kg, -81kg, -90kg, -100kg, and +100kg.

Senior Women: Open to women aged 17 years or older, Weight divisions: -48kg, -52kg, -57kg, -63kg, -70kg, -78kg, and +78kg.

DOUBLE ENTRY ONLY WEIGH-IN ON WEDNESDAY
No second weigh-in on Thursday for those who do double entries.

DOUBLE ENTRIES
U15, U18, U21 are allowed double entries.

Last year’s U13 may double without dispense to U15. Last year’s U15 may double to U18 without dispense. U18 and above require no dispense. First-year judokas, regardless of age category, can apply for a dispense through TB. Download the dispense and send it to TB for approval and confirmation.

The dispensing application must be submitted two weeks before the competition.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
No weight tolerance.

U13 and U15 must do weigh-in with judogi trousers and t-shirts
In the cadet’s age category athletes are not allowed to remove their underwear (men – underpants, women – underpants, and bra); to compensate an additional 100 grams will be allowed i.e. for the category -44 kg the limit will be -44.1 kg.

Note: Failure to meet the correct weight will result in a change of weight class.
Double entry policy
Participants in specific age categories are allowed to enter more than one category under the following conditions:

U15, U18 and U21 can enter double categories.
Final year U13 judokas can enter U15 without special permission.
Final year U15 judokas can move up to U18 without special permission.
U18 to U21 judokas do not need special permission to double-enter.
U21 to Seniors do not need special permission to double-enter.
First-year judokas can apply for special permission (dispense) through TB: (Swedish Judokas).

JUDO-GI REGULATIONS
For U15 categories
Gi: Competitors must wear a white judo-gi.
Belts: Match belts will be provided in white and red only.
Competitors are to use these belts while competing.
Option: A blue judo-gi is permissible but not required for competitors in this age group.
Medal ceremony: Competitors must wear white judo-gi during the award ceremony.

For U18, U21 and Seniors categories
Gi requirement: white and blue judo-gis are compulsory for competitors.
Medal ceremony: Competitors must wear white judo-gi during the award ceremony.

General gi- and size requirements
Judo-gis must comply with IJF (International Judo Federation) size regulations.
Gi and belt don’t need to bear the “red label.
Back number: Not mandatory but strongly recommended.
Medal ceremony: Competitors must wear white judo-gi during the award ceremony.

Details about coach meetings will be announced one day before the competition.

FOREIGN REFEREEING
International refereeing opportunities

We warmly welcome referees from abroad who hold an IJF-A/B license or at least a national B-license to participate in our event. Complimentary hotel accommodation will be provided for one night to all international referees joining us.

Referee Registration Deadline: Please submit your entries by Friday, April 29th, via email to agd@judo.se

Mandatory referee meeting: There will be a compulsory meeting for all referees, scheduled to take place one hour before the commencement of the competition.
Dress code for referees: it is required for all referees to dress formally, wearing a suit jacket, white shirt, and tie for the duration of the event.

ALTERNATIVE ACCOMMODATION
We offer you alternative accommodation approx. 10 minutes by car from the arena. You live together “dojo-style” with other clubs in a small city called Lomma.
Bring your air mattress, pillow, and your favorite teddy bear.

If you don’t have a car, there are buses to and from Lund.
You have Lidle just around the corner. The dojo has a small kitchen, gym, toilets and showers.

You must be 18 years old if you are going to live alone, otherwise a leader must live with you or your club.
Note that no children or young people are allowed to stay alone without an adult leader. Age checked upon arrival.
The price is SEK 225 per person, and you book your place through Smoothcomp. Limited places.
